The Gooding Soil Conservation District is one of fifty-one districts in
the State of Idaho whose purpose was mandated by the U.S. Congress to promote the conservation of natural resources and
provide local leadership that strives to mold conservation with sustainable agricultural through a group of
local volunteers who are elected by the general public to serve as the Board of Supervisors.

The Gooding Soil Conservation
District has orchastrated a tree planting day with the Gooding High School Envirothon Team-advisors Becky Freiberg
and Mr. Woodland, NRCS - Steve Thompson, supervisor - Bob Bolte and staff - Barbara Astle. The project is called
"Trees Against the Wind" where the District has been building snowfences / wind breaks along the highway
south of Gooding to stop soil erosion & snow blowing. Today we are working wtih Mr. Faulkner who owns the property
along the highway and has purchased the trees and a portion of the mulch while we organize the tree planting itself.
It was a team effort and a very successful Day!
